Jodie Foster is a force to be reckoned with. Not only has she snagged two Academy Awards, but the legendary actress also has three British Academy Film Awards, three Golden Globes and a number of critically acclaimed films under her belt. Missing and murdered Indigenous women is a real thing. And the crimes go unlooked at, they don’t get solved. You don’t want to pretend it doesn’t exist. But at the same time, having two female police officers who care enough about it to say, ‘No, we’re going to continue to investigate’… There’s something beautiful about that.”

3. When Did They Get Married?

After dating for about a year, Foster and Hedison tied the knot in April of 2014. Given that both ladies are notoriously private about their personal lives, further details haven’t been shared about the nuptials, but the big announcement came several months after Foster gave her memorable speech at the 2013 Golden Globes.

While accepting her Cecil B. DeMille Award, she addressed her coming out moment and said, “I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age. Foster dated Cydney Bernard for 14 years after meeting her on the set of Sommersby in 1993. Though they never got married, the couple had two sons together (one in 1998 and one in 2001).

During an appearance on The View, Foster admitted that she didn’t tell her kids she’s an actress until they were older. “I don’t know why, I guess I just didn’t want them to know me that way,” she said, according to People. “I wanted them to know me as their mom and the person who went away to work and stuff. I just didn’t want them to be confused about what I did for a living.”
