A “chivalrous” act from Justin Bieber, right?
Recently, Justin Bieber continued to stir up public opinion when he publicly criticized his senior Eminem on his Instagram story. The “Love Yourself” singer’s post is receiving mixed opinions, but most agree with this “chivalrous” action.
Specifically, Justin Bieber posted a screenshot showing that he was listening to the song “The Ringer” from Eminem’s album “Kamikaze”. The next story caught fans’ attention when he wrote: “I like listening to Eminem rap, but I don’t like the way he “diss” (slang for speaking badly or attacking someone in a song) the new generation of rappers. I like this young generation. He doesn’t understand them at all.”
The song “The Ringer” directly mentions a series of young rising artists such as Vince Staples, 21 Savage, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Yachty, Iggy Azalea, Lil Pump, Lil Xan,… with quite spiteful words. In some parts, Eminem also showed contempt for their rap ability and used offensive words towards them.
It seems that Justin Bieber was not able to contain his indignation when “Rap God” continuously dragged one singer after another into his rap, so he finally spoke up. It should also be added that Justin and Eminem have a relatively close relationship, so the audience is also afraid that the “Sorry” singer will be on the “blacklist” of the legendary rapper.
This is not the first time Eminem has “dissed” his colleagues in Hollywood, his list of “victims” is very long, including Britney Spears, Mariah Carey. Some supporters say this is a very normal thing in Rap culture, but most feel uncomfortable when every time Eminem releases a new song, his list of “victims” gets longer.
