“Kliff who?” 🙄 Stop playing the main character! You are ignoring the literal GOD of DPS in Crimson Desert and it’s costing you every boss fight.

While everyone is busy refining their swords, the elite 1% have discovered that Oongka (Unka) isn’t just a sidekick—he’s a blender. With a “Rage” state that makes you immune to staggers and a “Raging Lightning” skill that can stunlock the hardest bosses in the game (yes, even Ader on Hard mode), Oongka is officially breaking the power scale. But there’s a catch: you need a very specific “Dual Wielding” exploit involving a Great Hammer that Pearl Abyss might not have intended. 🪓🔨

A revolution is brewing in the snowy peaks of Pywel, and it doesn’t involve the game’s poster boy, Kliff. Recent data and community testing have revealed that Oongka (Unka), often dismissed as a secondary character, possesses a DPS (Damage Per Second) ceiling that far outstrips the rest of the playable cast. Through a combination of “stagger-immune” berserker states and a dual-wielding mastery exploit, Oongka has officially become the “Boss Shredder” of Patch 1.06.

The “Rage” Factor: 15 Seconds of Godhood

The core of Oongka’s dominance lies in his Rage skill. For 15 seconds, Oongka enters a “super armor” state where he cannot be staggered or interrupted by enemy attacks. When paired with Raging Lightning—a rapid-spin slash attack—Oongka becomes a literal whirlwind of death.

“In Hard mode, bosses like Ader usually punish you for over-committing to combos,” says DrZERO, a prominent theory-crafter in the Crimson Desert community. “With Oongka, you don’t commit to the combo; the combo commits to the boss. You simply hold the button and watch the health bar vanish.”

The Dual-Wield Mastery Exploit

Perhaps the most “broken” aspect of the current Oongka meta is the Dual Wielding Mastery skill. This allows Oongka to carry a two-handed weapon in a single hand. High-level players are now equipping the Inquisitor’s Great Axe (Type 3, boasting a Level 4 Crit Rate) in the primary slot and a Great Hammer in the secondary slot.

Crucially, the Great Hammer isn’t even used for attacking; it acts as a “stat stick,” providing a massive passive damage buff to Oongka’s primary axe skills. This “Heavy Dual-Wield” setup is currently unrivaled in raw output, though it requires players to liberate the Bloodsteel Camp and grind a vendor’s trust to Level 100 just to acquire the crafting book: Two-Handed Weapons of the World, Volume 4.

Alchemy and “Gourmet” Synergy

The build reaches its “broken” status through a deep synergy with the game’s cooking system. By slotting Gourmet Level 3 and Level 2 Abyss Gears, players can reach Food Effect Level 5.

At this tier, buffs from the Hardy Lavish Meal are essentially doubled. An attack boost that normally lasts 20 seconds is stretched to a minute, and more importantly, the “Ignore Stamina Consumption” buff is extended to 16 seconds. This allows Oongka to maintain his “Raging Lightning” spin for a duration that the game’s stamina bar would never normally permit.

Hunting the Abyss Gears

To achieve this “Perfect Oongka,” players are scouring specific corners of Pywel for rare Abyss Gears:

Hounds Claws: Extracted from the boss of the Hellhounds faction quest, adding Crit and Attack Speed.

Relentless Gears: Found in the Starlight Cave (hidden behind a waterfall southeast of the Deminis region), these increase damage for every consecutive hit in a combo.

Valor Tread Set: The legendary armor set only obtainable by completing the “Legendary Animals” faction questline.

The Community Verdict

Despite his power, Oongka remains underplayed. “Most people just want to play the hero with the sword,” one Discord user remarked. “But once you see an Oongka build shred through Gaia’s goons without flinching, it’s hard to go back to Kliff’s parry-heavy gameplay.”

As players continue to push the limits of Patch 1.06, the “Blender Meta” shows no signs of slowing down. Whether Pearl Abyss will step in to nerf the Dual Wielding synergy remains the biggest question in the community. For now, if you aren’t playing Oongka, you are leaving damage on the table.
