After long last, Rockstar is adding a brand-new DLC to Red Dead Redemption 2 but it seems as though not everyone is happy about the decision.
Since 2022, Rockstar has taken somewhat of a backseat when it comes to Red Dead Redemption 2âs online mode Red Dead Online.
Instead, it has focused more on repeating events and small patches but for the first time in many years, Rockstar has released a trailer for Red Dead Onlineâs new Strange Tales of the West DLC.
âAuthor Theodore Levin canât believe the rumors and missives heâs been receiving from the four corners of the American frontier. Heâs working on an anthology of these unexplained and weird phenomena and he needs your help investigating the wildest claims that cross his desk,â the official blog post explaining Strange Tales of the West reads.
“Strange Tales of the West will require steely resolve and courage in the face of the odd, twisted, and downright supernatural. Embark upon these four new Telegram Missions by picking up Mr. Levinâs letter at any Post Office or from your Campâs Lockbox, then opening it via your Satchel or launching Telegram Missions from your Player Menu.â
According to Rockstar insider videotechuk_, one of the new missions will see you face off against the undead which, of course, has led some fans to speculate on a potential Undead Nightmare-esque expansion.
However, it seems as though not every Red Dead fan is feeling as optimistic and that certainly applies to Twitter user HazardousHDTV.
âPlayers have been begging for Undead Nightmare in RDR2, so Rockstar has finally delivered fans’ most popular request and will bring it to RDR2 in the form of Red Dead Online Telegrams which players absolutely hate,â they shared.
It is true that Rockstar has not announced any plans for Undead Nightmare to come to Red Dead Online so this may truly be the only way that fans can experience it in Red Dead Redemption 2.
User DeadPixel62 seemingly summed it up for a lot of players.
âOh man, Red Dead Online had the potential to be the perfect multiplayer game,â they said.
âIt had a unique feeling and an awesome setting, all we needed was a little attention from Rockstar. We had some unforgettable times though.â
Hopefully this player feedback will inspire Rockstar to rethink a possible return for Undead Nightmare once it has wrapped up Grand Theft Auto VI.
