Assassin’s Creed Shadows Stumbles: Why the Loss of the Multi-Sell Feature Hurts, and What Ubisoft’s Silence Means for Players in 2025

bisoft has removed the best quality-of-life feature from their latest game, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and people are kinda upset.

While everyone thought Assassin’s Creed: Shadows would be the end of Ubisoft, the title bamboozled us all by hitting the charts and becoming the second best-selling game in 2025 so far (gracefully behind Monster Hunter Wilds)

Ubisoft, the developer of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, introduced the best quality-of-life element in the game, the multi-sell feature, but in the game’s latest hotfix, Ubisoft has removed this feature altogether. Let’s delve deeper into this and find out why the coolest quality-of-life feature was removed.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows blew everyone’s minds when the game sold more than three million units just a week after its release back in March. Although a lot of people doubted that Shadows would make a dent in the gaming market, Ubisoft proved everyone wrong with this new Assassin’s Creed that is taking place in Feudal Japan.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadow’s received its first major patch earlier this month on the 8th of April, and while they fixed a lot of bugs and tweaked some gameplay features, Ubisoft also added a lot of quality-of-life features, and one of them was the multi-sell function.

The multi-sell feature in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows allowed players to pawn off their loot in bulk instead of tediously pressing the same button over and over again. This feature became the most useful addition to the game because it made gear management less annoying and made inventory control more efficient.

But like all the good things, this QoL feature also did not last long. In a recent hotfix of the game, Ubisoft removed the multi-sell feature without any warning, which left a lot of fans confused. According to their title update page, they mentioned that this was done because the feature was causing “some unexpected issues”.

Though it is still not clear what those unexpected issues are, some fans online have been complaining about how the game has been crashing when they click on the “sell all” button. This might be the actual reason why Ubisoft suddenly decided to remove the feature altogether.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the removal is temporary

It’s definitely a sad sight to see such a good QoL feature gone, but fear not, fellow assassin, because Ubisoft has confirmed that the removal of the sell all feature is temporary, and it will be back as soon as it is fixed.

While Ubisoft still has not given a proper arrival time for when the product will be back, players are hoping that it is as soon as possible so they can get back to dumping their common loot on the poor shopkeepers (they are probably happy with the loot).

But for now, players are stuck to the old find and grind technique of selling their loot, which honestly feels like a massive inconvenience after getting a taste of the multi-sell feature. Although we still don’t know when we will get to see the multi-sell feature again, one thing we are sure of is that we all, as a community, want to see the best quality-of-life feature back.
