If You Missed One Of Clair Obscur’s Rarest Trophies, I’ve Got Good News For You

There aren’t very many missables in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but one particular skill might be holding players up from unlocking one rare trophy, “Feet Collection.” The skill in question isn’t actually missable, but it will certainly appear that way if you don’t know the specific location of one of the most annoying (and hilarious) enemies in the game. For starters, if you fought this enemy without Monoco in your party, you won’t be able to fight it in the same location again, but you’ll be happy to learn there’s another one located deeper in the game.

The Monoco skill in question is called Grosse Tete Whack, and it’s acquired from one of the strangest and arguably most annoying enemies in the game, Grosse Tete. Gross Tete can be fought before you even reach Monoco in the first place, which means many players don’t have Monoco in their active party or don’t realize they even need to when they fight Grosse Tete. However, if you are one of the aforementioned players, don’t worry, as there’s another opportunity to unlock this skill later on.

Why Most Players Are Missing This Monoco Skill In Clair Obscur

Grosse Tete Is Encountered Before Monoco

Grosse Tete Whack is one of the best and most commonly missed Monoco skills for one obvious reason, which is that you can actually encounter Grosse Tete before you have Monoco in your party. Grosse Tete is on a beach southeast of Monoco’s Station, and he’s one of the most annoying (and hilarious) enemies in the game. To defeat Grosse Tete, you basically need to parry/dodge its attacks until it explodes, which is easier said than done for most players. If you haven’t taken on Grosse Tete yet, make sure you have Monoco in your lineup to avoid this issue entirely.

There’s a good chance you found Grosse Tete before you talked to Monoco and recruited him into your party. However, even if you have recruited Monoco already, there’s also a good chance you don’t have him in your active party when you leave Monoco’s Station and fight Grosse Tete, as he won’t have many skills available, and you’ll have better options. It’s also possible (if it’s your first playthrough) that you don’t yet realize that you need Monoco in your active lineup in order to unlock his skills, which is yet another reason many players don’t unlock Grosse Tete Whack.

Once the Grosse Tete on the open Continent is defeated, it’s not going to respawn.

Whatever the reasoning for missing this skill, it’s a requirement for the “Feet Collection” trophy, and once the Grosse Tete on the open Continent is defeated, it’s not going to respawn. If you missed the chance this first time around, it’s going to seem like you’re simply out of luck. However, there’s actually another Grosse Tete in the game, but you’ll have to make your way into Act 3 and find the Flying Manor location first.

Where To Find Grosse Tete In Clair Obscur

There’s A More Powerful Grosse Tete Enemy In Flying Manor If You Missed The First One

If you missed out on Monoco’s Grosse Tete Whack against the first Grosse Tete enemy, you can find another one in the Flying Manor, a location in Act 3 that can only be accessed once you’ve unlocked Esquie’s ability to fly. It’s found on the first path to your left when you enter the area, and this time, you’ll definitely want to have Monoco in your party when you fight it.

Grosse Tete Whack is one of the few skills of Monoco’s that cannot be unlocked in the Endless Tower, and because Flying Manor is technically optional content, most players don’t ever track down the second Grosse Tete. If you’re trying to unlock all of Monoco’s skills in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and happened to miss Grosse Tete Whack, head to the Flying Manor as soon as you get the chance.
