Well, one thing that does narrow it down a little is the fact that we already know that Season 2 is taking us to New Vegas. Set leaks have confirmed that the season is heavily inspired by the original game, Fallout: New Vegas, as The Strip looks almost identical to how we remember it. So, fans think that Culkin could play a character from the game – Arcade Gannon.
Fallout Fans Think Macaulay Culkin Is Playing Arcade From New Vegas
Arcade is a fan-favourite companion from the game
Reddit user Bitter_Internal9009 kicked off the conversation, predicting that Culkin will play as post-New Vegas Arcade based on his appearance and the character description provided in the report. The post has 3,000 upvotes, so there are clearly many in agreement.
“Just look at Macaulay! He looks perfect for an older Arcade,” they argue. “I’d actually be surprised if that’s not the character he is playing.”
“I’m pretty optimistic for this and hoping that they capture Arcade’s level of sarcasm properly,” says Ser_Sunday. “The Mojave wouldn’t be the same without his humor.”
However, as some point out, Arcade was never a “crazy genius”. It’s possible that the events of New Vegas took a toll on him, but this character description also has fans guessing that Culkin is playing other characters from the games.
The most popular guess outside of Arcade is Mr. Fantastic – that guy you meet in New Vegas who lies his way into a tech job for the NCR. His attitude would certainly fit the tone of the show quite nicely. On the other hand, some feel that the show is going to bring back a more infamous character: Myron. He only appears in Fallout 2, and is among the most morally bankrupt characters in the entire series. Some suggest that Culkin is playing an older version of Myron since he’s only a teenager in Fallout 2. That said, all of the game’s endings involve his death, so this is unlikely without a retcon.
Fallout Season 2 does not have a release date just yet, and it seems that filming hasn’t wrapped yet.
