There’s no denying the fact that the Fallout TV series was a massive hit for Bethesda and Microsoft. The show debuted back in April 2024 and had over 65 million viewers in just a matter of days. It was even nominated for the Emmys in various categories.

It’s already confirmed that we’re going to get a second season for Fallout. It’s going to be packed with everything we loved about the first season and a power armor secret that no one can guess in their wildest dreams.

On the official Fallout subreddit, user ChicKestrel17 revealed that they were one of the extras in the Fallout show and wanted fans to ask them more about the show and everything that went behind the scenes.

According to the Redditor, they were one of the Brotherhood of Steel initiates that can be spotted in Maximus’ first episode.

When asked how they felt being an extra in such an acclaimed show, ChicKestrel17 stated that they enjoyed the experience and even got to meet Jonah Nolan. What’s interesting is the detail the Redditor reveals about the power armor.

Other than a couple of features, the Fallout show’s recreation of power armor is quite faithful to the suits that we find in Todd Howard’s games, which are clumsy and quite ridiculous looking. Considering their appearance in the show, you might think they’re made of full metal and nothing else.

However, ChicKestrel17 reveals that the power armor we see in the post-apocalyptic show is actually heavily plastic-based. While filming the show, it was quite funny for them to hear the sound of plastic clunking around. However, we, as viewers, didn’t get to hear that because the iconic metal clanking was added in post-production.

There’s a reason why the show opted to go for full plastic armor. Right ahead of the show’s premiere on Prime Video, the Fallout show’s crew chatted with The Gamer about the functioning of power armor on set.

The creators were dead set on not using CGI and opted for creating suits that actors and stunt crew could wear. Even though the plastic-based power armor was “exhausting” for actors to wear and perform with, it did bring one of the most iconic parts of the Fallout series to life.

When is Fallout season 2 coming out?

Prime Video decided to greenlight a second season of the video game adaptation right after the release of Season 1. Considering the reception around the Fallout series, it was destined to happen.

Unfortunately, it’s going to be a long while before the season of the post-apocalyptic series hits the shelves. As reported by Hollywood North, the upcoming season is still in the midst of production, having kicked off on November 7th, 2024, with an end wrap sometime around April 25th, 2025

Season 1 was filmed over a period of eight and a half months, from July 2022 to March 2024, and premiered just a year later in April 2024. If the upcoming season follows a similar path, then we could see a release in April or May 2026. However, there’s a chance that Amazon Prime could push the series to come a bit sooner.

With that said, are you excited about the season of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic franchise? Let us know in the comments below.
