Rumours are swirling that a notorious Coronation Street villain might be making a comeback, and it could mean trouble for Tyrone Dobbs.
Kirsty Soames, portrayed by Natalie Gumede, first appeared on the soap in 2011 as Tyrone’s (Alan Halsall) love interest. Their relationship seemed promising, culminating in the birth of their daughter Ruby in 2012.
However, Kirsty’s persona took a dark turn, with the police officer inflicting abuse upon Tyrone and falsely accusing him of being the abuser, leading to a trial. In 2013, justice was served when Kirsty confessed to her actions at Tyrone’s trial and was subsequently imprisoned.
She re-emerged briefly in 2014 via abusive texts sent to Tyrone after her release. Then, in 2021, viewers were told that Kirsty had suffered a fatal aneurysm, found dead in her flat by a neighbour.

Nonetheless, fans are stirring speculation about a dramatic plot twist with predictions of Kirsty’s return, believing she may not be dead after all. A Coronation Street Facebook fan page ignited conversations with photos of Kirsty and a caption: “Natalie Gumede who played Kirsty.”, reports Leicestershire Live.
Eager fans have been voicing their theories in the comments section, with one stating, “Watching her on Corrie she would have my blood boiling at times. Powerful storyline and it would be good to have her return.”

A third fan highlighted how television shows have a history of resurrecting deceased characters, remarking: “They should bring her back! I know she’s dead but they’ve done it before, look at Cindy in EastEnders.”
Another viewer noted the opportunity for a narrative twist, stating: “It would be good timing with Ruby being older now.” Moreover, a fifth comment also chimed in: “That’s exactly what I thought. She was definitely one of the nastiest villains.”
Post her departure from the soap as Kirsty, the actress graced the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, securing a place as runner-up. Additionally, she could be seen on the Netflix series Free Rein spanning from 2017 to 2019.
