The announcement trailer for Naughty Dog’s new game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, hasn’t been well received. Many people have disliked it, and the numbers aren’t looking good compared to other games.
The trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel has been disliked over 256,000 times. This is a whopping 524% more dislikes than the trailer for Concord, a game by Firewalk Studios. While Concord’s trailer only received 41,000 dislikes, it’s worth noting that Intergalactic had more views—2.1 million compared to Concord’s 592,000.
What makes things worse is the percentage of dislikes. About 12.19% of viewers disliked Intergalactic’s trailer, nearly double the 6.92% for Concord. Even though Intergalactic managed more likes, at 4.62%, it still struggled to impress.
On Naughty Dog’s own channel, things didn’t improve much. Their upload of the trailer had 1.3 million views, with 167,000 dislikes and only 68,000 likes. This means 12.8% of viewers disliked it, while just 5.23% liked it.
For comparison, Concord’s gameplay trailer had 1.1 million views but fared even worse in likes, with just 8,500. However, it had far fewer dislikes, totaling 85,000, which is 7.72% of viewers. Despite Concord’s struggles, Intergalactic still managed to gather 96.4% more dislikes than Concord’s gameplay trailer.
Let’s look at Elden Ring Nightreign for a brighter perspective. Its reveal trailer, uploaded by Bandai Namco, pulled in 3.3 million views, earning 177,000 likes and only 2,600 dislikes. This means just 0.08% of viewers disliked it. By comparison, Intergalactic got 9,381% more dislikes than Elden Ring Nightreign.
The numbers speak for themselves. Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is getting far more pushback than Concord or Elden Ring Nightreign. What do you think could be causing so much negativity?
