Many consider Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to be the best player at his position and among the top players in the NFL, but few would argue that he just hasn’t looked like himself this season.

Among TEs, Kelce ranks second in targets (131), third in receptions (97), fifth in yards (823) and 16th in touchdowns (three), per Pro Football Focus, but he’s having a down year by his standards.

Likely to sit out Kansas City’s regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos, Kelce will finish with numbers significantly worse than what fans come to expect from him — he’s averaged 96 receptions, 1,198 yards and seven touchdowns over the last eight years.

So when the NFL announced that the 35-year-old Kelce was leading all players in Pro Bowl voting (252,200 votes), just ahead of Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (250,082) and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (242,352), NFL fans took to social media to raise the same complaint, taking aim at Kelce’s girlfriend, 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift.

“You know why Travis got those votes let’s not pretend he’s even top 3 at his own position,” one fan said.

“Swifties carrying Kelce 😂,” another fan added

“Swifties out there in force for Kelce,” one user stated.

“Wow Taylor Swift still carried Kelce because he stank this year 😂,” remarked another user.

“Congrats to Taylor Swift for winning,” one fan chimed in.

“Nice now Taylor Swift fans pick Pro Bowl players lol 😂,” another fan quipped.

Despite Kelce’s production dipping the last two years — he had seven straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2016 to 2022 but hasn’t topped 984 yards the last two years — his popularity is at an all-time high thanks to his relationship with Swift.

Many believe this could be Kelce’s final season with several reports hinting that he and Swift plan to get married in the NFL offseason and potentially settle down and start a family shortly after that.
