As her tech CEO husband Andy Byron became engulfed in a sudden controversy over a viral Coldplay video, his wife, Megan Byron, started erasing her social media presence.

Now it’s emerged that an Instagram page in the name of Megan Kerrigan Byron has been deleted too. The page uses the handle M.E. Byron. Her name in property records is Megan E. Byron.

On July 19, Astronomer said Byron has resigned.

Megan Kerrigan Byron’s Facebook page, under the name “Meg Kerrigan” was active and filled with family photos on the morning of July 17. The page, reviewed by Men’s Journal before it was deleted, showcased photos of the couple and their kids, all seemingly happy. The URL for the page calls her Megan K. Byron. Public records show they own a more than $1 million house together through a trust.

The New York Post also wrote that Megan Byron deleted her Facebook and Instagram pages and noted that people online have gushed their support for her.

TMZ has now published a second video that it purports shows Andy Byron kissing his company’s HR director at the concert.

Andy Byron’s company, Astronomer, released a statement on July 18, saying the Board of Directors had initiated an investigation following the viral video.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” the company wrote in a statement posted to X and LinkedIn.

Who can blame Megan Byron for deleting her social media, of course, as her Facebook page instantly filled with negative comments about her husband and the Coldplay controversy. Memes flew around social media.

It’s not clear when the Instagram page was deleted, however.

Some social media observers said she changed her Facebook page to remove her last name, but it’s not clear when that was changed; it was Meg Kerrigan in the early morning hours of July 17.

She once spoke at a government meeting for the local community where she lives in Massachusetts (Men’s Journal is withholding the locale). The meeting minutes say she “had concerns about the environmental implications saying there were always environmental restrictions.”

Andy Byron is the CEO of a company called Astronomer. Byron and the company’s “people” officer Kristin Cabot have been accused of being the man and woman caught embracing in a viral Jumbotron video at the Coldplay concert, which took place in Massachusetts, according to Newsweek.

Men’s Journal reached out to Astronomer to offer them a chance to comment; Astronomer responded only to debunk a false statement attributed to Byron by other news sites (Men’s Journal inquired about its legitimacy).

Ry Walker, the former company CEO, did comment on X, writing, “For those asking – I’m no longer involved in @astronomerio – yes I was co-founder and early CEO – not on the team or board since 2022, and have no information on ColdplayGate.”

He also labeled a supposed statement from Byron that is floating around X a “funny parody” and not real.

Asked by an X user whether he likes Coldplay as the controversy continues to draw scorching attention, he wrote, “I have 704 liked songs in Spotify – none are Coldplay, but I do think Chris Martin is an amazing vocalist.”
