Despite CD Projekt RED announcing just last year that it would no longer be supporting Cyberpunk 2077, it seems as though the studio is back with yet another update for its latest RPG.
Back in May 2024, CD Projekt RED revealed that it would no longer be updating Cyberpunk 2077, after announcing that the game was finally in the state it had originally planned back during its launch in 2020.
However, the studio surprised fans in December with the news that it had secretly been working on Update 2.2 which added 100s of new cosmetics, updates to Photo Mode and brand-new features including more of Johnny Silverhand himself.
Now CDPR is back once again with Patch 2.21 which mainly focuses on the addition of support for the Nvidia RTX 50 Series GPUs and DLSS 4 as well as a series of bug fixes.
There is also support for the Transformer Model for both Super Resolution and Frame Generation as well as a fix which resets the Frame Generation field in Graphics settings after the Resolution Scaling is switched off.
The free update will automatically download as soon as you launch Steam (or whichever client you use for Cyberpunk 2077) and also comes with the following bug fixes:
Fixed the Facial Expression option for Adam Smasher.
Fixed an issue where Adam Smasher’s glowing chest cyberware was missing.
Characters spawned while V is in the air or in water will no longer snap to the ground.
V’s rotation and position will now be properly saved in presets.
Nibbles and Adam Smasher can now be spawned while V is in the air or in water.
These are just a few examples but you can find the rest here and fans are overjoyed to hear that Cyberpunk 2077 is still being worked on.
“I’m honestly so happy we’re getting updates and support to Cyberpunk,” one Reddit user wrote.
“It’s my favorite game of all time, so to see them not abandon it even when they’ve other projects makes me excited. I’m really hoping we get more cosmetic cyberware at some point.”
In the meantime, fans can also look forward to Cyberpunk 2 which is now in active development alongside The Witcher 4.
