Diablo 4’s Season 7 is already infested with multiple game breaking bugs and the newest one is letting players hit trillions in damage.

Diablo 4 Season 7 has only been out for a little over a week, and would you believe it, we already have multiple game-breaking bugs. This time, there’s a new bug with Decay Augmentation, one of the new Witchcraft Powers that got introduced with the update. The specifics aren’t clear yet but the bug is letting players dish out trillions of damage.

And it’s no surprise that Spiritborn players are capitalizing on this first. Streamers and leaderboard climbers are already using this bug to clear Pit Tier 150. One Spiritborn player has even cleared it in two minutes, a time that is obviously due to the buff because the player clearly hides their damage numbers to hide the fact that it’s a bug exploit.

Several Diablo 4 streamers, including Mekuna, have demonstrated the exploit in action. By using Decay Augmentation into a Spiritborn Fireball build, players can stack an absurd amount of burning damage. According to Decay Augmentation’s official stats, the power is meant to increase damage by 10% of its burning effect, but the calculations seem to be off because that is not the case right now.
We’re seeing showcases from players hitting for literal trillions, allowing them to annihilate entire Pit 150 runs in minutes. On YouTube, a player named KerkyBoi currently holds the top spot on the unofficial leaderboards with a staggering 2:48 clear time. Their video has damage numbers disabled but the sheer speed of the run makes it obvious that it’s with a bug exploit.
What makes this bug more broken in particular is because of how easy it is to take advantage of. You see, game-breaking bugs and glitches usually require some sort of setup which can sometimes be really complicated. But even though there’s no clarity on the exact steps to use this new bug, it’s very accessible.
Here’s the damage my #DiabloIV Infinite Cataclysm build is doing. Is this more or less than other Cataclysm builds out there after the bug was fixed? 😁 (40% Shroud damage missing)

Funnily enough though, this isn’t the first bug of Season 7 because just a week ago, the Druid class also had its own version of an infinite damage bug with the Infinite Cataclysm build. Streamer ob2628 showcased a version of this Druid build hitting for “gazillions” of damage.
Does Blizzard have a Quality Assurance team at all?

This isn’t the first season Diablo 4 has faced game-breaking damage bugs and it makes you wonder whether Blizzard has a QA team at all. Just last season, Spiritborn players discovered a bug that allowed them to deal near-infinite damage. Even though it was a clear game-breaking bug, Blizzard chose not to patch it until Season 7 launched.
So will history repeat itself this time? If Blizzard follows the same pattern, this new bug might last for the entirety of Season 7. A Blizzard spokesperson issued a statement to Polygon saying that the developers consider it a “high priority” and are working on fixing it. We’ll have to wait and see if these are empty promises.
Blizzard Entertainment has to make important decisions quickly and with no mistakes. Path of Exile 2‘s Early Access came out in December 2024 and has been a massive hit. Despite having to pay for it, hundreds of thousands of players have flocked to the long-awaited sequel, and if you think that’s a lot then wait till the game fully launches as a free-to-play title.
