There are just a few months to go until this epic new release is expected to crash into our lives and to celebrate, some official gameplay footage has been revealed.

The game is none other than Crimson Desert, an upcoming RPG scheduled to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 19 March 2026.

Developed and published by Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert is expected to rival that of The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher and a little bit of Monster Hunter thrown in to craft an incredible RPG experience.

Now thanks to IGN who got access to an exclusive look, we can check out the mechanical dragon battle in Crimson Desert for the PlayStation 5.

In the just under 10-minute video, we can see Crimson Desert’s combat in all its glory as our hero fends off a very large dragon.

“Our IGN First for October is Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert – the open-world action-adventure set in the fantasy continent of Pywel,” the video description reads.

“Here, you can check out sections of a mission from the game’s story that takes Kliff face-to-face with a giant mechanical dragon boss called Golden Star.”

Alongside our first look at combat, we can also see a sneak peek of the questline that leads up to it as well as some of the environments, sailing feature, and overall game mechanics.

However, it is the character’s abilities that shine in this showcase, giving us a glimpse of them leaping into the air and transforming into a wraith-like creature in order to get out of combat and gain the upper hand.

Wielding a bow, spear and shield, it is clear that you will be able to switch between various weapons at will as well as make use of those aforementioned abilities.

The video finishes off with a trip atop a dragon and it is clear that this video has got fans feeling hyped.

“You can see functioning mechanisms inside the dragon. The detail is incredible,” the top comment reads.

“The fact that they are showing this much on gameplay before release means the game is going to be huge. I mean HUGE,” another fan added.

It is clear that if Crimson Desert maintains this level of detail and gameplay diversity, it could be on track to be a 2026 Game of the Year contender.

However, with still a few months to go until its launch, let us hope that this hype continues.
