Forget about GTA VI, we don’t care anymore. Who cares if Rockstar Games is creating one of the biggest games of all time, honestly?

Okay, we do still care about GTA VI, but the news that broke yesterday, of Rockstar Games buying Video Game Deluxe, may mean we get a return to older GTA titles soon.

The news came yesterday afternoon that Rockstar Games has purchased the company responsible for the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, and LA Noire Remastered.

Fans on Twitter are reacting by speculating whether this means we might finally get a remastered edition of GTA IV, a long-time favourite of many.

To be honest, it’s not just the prospect of a remaster of Nico Belic’s crime-laden adventure, but this opens up the entire catalogue of Rockstar Games.

“We might see Bully remaster,” notes one fan on Twitter, while others are hyped over the possibility of seeing more GTA adventures brought to modern consoles and PC.

The news came after an announcement from Rockstar Games’ head of publishing, Jennifer Kolbe, who said, “After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia.”

Video Games Deluxe founder, Brendan McNamara, said of the acquisition, “It’s been an honour to work closely with Rockstar Games this past decade.”

McNamara continued: “We are thrilled to be a part of Rockstar Games and to continue our efforts to make the best games possible.”

This is a huge step forward for Rockstar Games, who can now expand their efforts over the coming years.

Not only does this possibly mean more remasters on the way, but it will expand the workforce who can focus on GTA VI support, and help across other live Rockstar Games titles, such as GTA Online.
