Rockstar Games has heard your cries and decided to deliver you a second version of the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer… ok well at this point I think it’s fair to say that they’re 100% just messing with fans now.
So, the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI just went up on the Chinese video hosting site Bilibili. Now that might not sound like a bit deal but bear with me here.
Admittedly when I first heard about this, I wasn’t entirely convinced it was actually something interesting enough to cover either… until I saw exactly how much detail was lost between the two versions.
YouTube has a much lower bitrate than Bilibili. A bitrate refers to the amount of bits that are transferred per second, so in short, it just means that the version of the trailer on Bilibili looks much, much better.
But it goes a little bit beyond the trailer simply being nicer to look at due to the higher quality.
As many folks online have noticed, the difference between the YouTube and Bilibili versions of the trailer is so big that certain details can now be properly made out.
Some of these are cool but mostly just impressive. For instance, you can now see the hairs on Lucia’s arms and you can see the extra detail on the leather chairs inside the car she’s sitting in.
A couple of the details are much, much more interesting though. Perhaps the biggest one is that you can make out a lot more of the detail on the writing on the wall in the shot of Lucia’s jail cell.
The GTA6 trailer has been found in way better quality, thanks to an upload on BiliBili, and the difference is night and day.
You can see so much more detail now like stretch marks on a woman’s thighs at the beach, better water textures, and even parts of the interior in the shot… pic.twitter.com/73X39h1n1O

As of now, there are no huge revelations to pull from this.
But, give it like a day and I’m sure the GTA community will have managed to find something. These folks are nothing if not persistent.
