Grand Theft Autoās radio feature is one of the most beloved parts of the game so it is no surprise that fans are eager to learn more about the music set to be featured inĀ Grand Theft Auto VI.
Cruising around the city streets, sand-strewn deserts and rocky mountainous areas inĀ Grand Theft Auto VĀ was made easier thanks to the ability to switch across radio channels at will.
Featuring multiple channels, each complete with their own genre of music and even radio DJs, we all had our favourites but withĀ Grand Theft Auto VIĀ set to be bigger and better than its predecessor, we can imagine that its radio station options are going to blow us out of the water.
AlthoughĀ Rockstar GamesĀ has not officially confirmed anything to do with the in-game radio, multiple artists over the years have revealed that their music will be featured.
Most recently, it was the rapper Skrilla who revealed that his viral, and very memed song,Ā Doot Doot (6 7)Ā will star inĀ Grand Theft Auto VI.
Recently speaking on the latest episode of the Matt and Shane Secret Podcast, Skrilla revealed that his song is āgoing to be onāĀ GTA VI,Ā allowing him to play his own music when the game releases.
The rapper alsoĀ revealedĀ that he has ācreatedā his real-life aesthetic in the game.
If you have been living under a rock, you will have missed the current ā67ā meme that has become a cultural phenomenon for the younger generations.
Inspired by the Skrilla song, it seems as though the meme will now be inescapable for many years to come if these rumours are true.
However, Skrilla is not the first artist to tease his appearance inĀ Grand Theft Auto VI.
Back in June, Grammy Award-winning producer Jermaine Dupri revealed that he had been asked to star in the game alongside Drake who has been awarded his āown radio stationā.
“The way they are getting ready to do it is that Drake can actually upload music we probably ain’t never heard online or wherever else on that video game,ā Dupri shared.
InĀ Grand Theft Auto V,Ā radio stations were categorised based on genre, more so than having specific channels dedicated to individual artists so it remains to be seen if this change has been implemented and if artists such as Drake will join the hit roster.
For now, as mentioned, Rockstar is yet to confirm any of these rumours so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
However, according to insider GameRoll on Twitter, Skrillaās recent reveal could spell good news forĀ GTA VIās release date.
āMusic licensing tends to be one of the very last things that Rockstar does before finishing a game,ā theyĀ shared.
āIf heās not lying, then this is a pretty good indication thatĀ GTA 6Ā wonāt be delayed again.ā
Grand Theft Auto VIĀ is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26 May 2026.
