One of the more unfortunate prevailing rumours surrounding GTA VI right now is that the game won’t be releasing in 2025 after all.
The game’s first trailer was shown in December 2023, and I’m sure you remember. But concern grew as we went through the whole of 2024 without a single real update on the long-awaited Rockstar sequel.
It’s been suggested that GTA VI could actually end up delayed into 2026 based on various reports. And while nothing has been outright confirmed yet, it’s clear Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive know they’re going to make so much money from GTA VI that they can afford to wait.
All hope is not lost, however. As spotted by GTA 6 Info on Twitter, Rockstar Games’ Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist Georgio Jankowski posted on LinkedIn on January 3 that seemed to reinforce the idea GTA VI is still coming 2025.
“With 2025 kicking off and shaping up to be one of the most exciting years ahead here at Rockstar, it couldn’t be a better time to have a look at our open positions and consider applying,” the post read, alongside a link to career opportunities. The post featured the now familiar GTA VI promo image with “coming 2025” across the logo.
It’s worth noting that 2025 is still the official release window for GTA VI, and will remain so until Rockstar decides to announce otherwise. We don’t have any idea what’s going on internally in regards to decisions to delay the game or not, so it makes sense that any representatives for the company would continue to stick to the previously officially announced information.
With that said, I reckon in this case no news is good news. So any Rockstar employee still mentioning 2025 is cause for cautious optimism. Hopefully we get some official communication from Rockstar sooner than later. I’m not sure I can take any more moon theories.
