Hogwarts Legacy fans unite over who should be the main villain in the highly anticipated sequel from Avalanche Software.

I can’t quite believe that it’s been over two years since Hogwarts Legacy was initially released in February 2023, a game considered to be the best that the Wizarding World has to offer, as suggested by it becoming the best-selling game of that year, even surpassing the mighty Elden Ring.

“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it. Live the Unwritten.”

At the time of writing, Hogwarts Legacy hasn’t been officially announced but the folks at Warner Bros have suggested that it could have a modern setting inspired by the upcoming HBO TV series reboot.

I would like to say that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a guarantee as it would practically print money but considering that Warner Bros. has cancelled the much-requested story DLC for the original game, nothing would surprise me at this point.

Now, before I proceed, I am about to venture into spoiler territory for Hogwarts Legacy regarding a character that some may consider to be a villain of the story. So, you have been warned.

“What would you rather see in a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy?” asked a Reddit user. The Reddit user then listed what they’d like to see in the sequel such as a sixth academic year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a larger map to explore, and perhaps even a new school.

“A continuation of the sixth year,” replied Environmental_Poem68. “I wanna play Sebastian Sallow’s story! There is a lot of fan fiction already about him, and good ones too.”

While not considered to be a villain to the same level as Lord Voldemort, Slytherin student Sebastian is at least a complex character who not only practices the dark arks but has made some very questionable decisions in Hogwarts Legacy.

In my humble opinion, we could do a lot worse than Sebastian Sallow but his role in Hogwarts Legacy 2 will ultimately depend on when the sequel is set.
