Path of Exile 2 is a long awaited game and boy did Grinding Gear Games deliver. But what’s this about a naked character bug?

The early access launch of Path of Exile 2 has been massively successful as fans have dived into this long-awaited sequel. Packed with refined gameplay and a new narrative, the game has drawn hundreds of thousands of players. But it hasn’t been without its issues, big or small.

Some players have already found a peculiar glitch that momentarily reveals characters without their clothing during specific game actions. This quirky glitch has been described by some as both amusing and shocking. Intentional or not, it has added an unexpected layer of entertainment to an already popular game.

Reports of the “naked character bug” began surfacing shortly after Path of Exile 2 launched on December 6, 2024. Players noticed that when switching characters or accessing the main menu, character models momentarily appeared without armor or clothing. One Reddit user shared their surprise with a humorous quip, “I saw b**bs. It was the best day ever.“
Despite its unintended nature, this glitch has been met with humor rather than outrage, with players debating its comedic timing and the developers’ possible reaction. The first game also had statues and enemies with overtly sexualized designs. So this isn’t the first time nudity or the semblance of it, has featured in Path of Exile’s universe. But this one is a bug so it’s funny.
It’s really easy to speculate whether the glitch is a harmless oversight or a tongue-in-cheek nod from Grinding Gear Games because the developer is known for its meticulous attention to detail. We probably won’t find out but fans would go wild if GGG came forward and said it was intentional.

Despite this or any other glitches, Path of Exile 2 has been a resounding success. The game broke records on Steam, achieving an all-time peak player count of 578,569 and securing a spot among the top 15 most-played games in the platform’s history.

The massive influx of players during its early access launch overwhelmed servers and even temporarily crashed SteamDB. With over a million early access keys redeemed before launch, it’s easy to see exactly how that happened, and goes to show just how hyped people were for this game.
you’ve also brought down steamdb because everyone went to check it lol

The game’s early access version features a three-act campaign and six character classes, with promises of a six-act campaign and twelve classes upon full release. Players have praised its intuitive character customization and refined gameplay mechanics, noting that the game retains the core essence of the franchise while also having quality-of-life improvements.
The one problem that was reported early on was that the game was too hard. The first act of the game has been reported to be especially difficult which has led to fans calling it a Souls game. However, players have acknowledged that this is a good thing for the game in the big picture.
Developer Grinding Gear Games has responded proactively to community feedback. A recent update addressed complaints about the game being “not rewarding enough” by adjusting drop rates, rare monster rewards, and map modifiers.
