Marvel Rivals already has over 30 iconic heroes and villains on its roster — some more well-known than others. But the last few weeks have revealed that a lot of other characters are in the works. A recent leak had eight new heroes and villains on the horizon, including four that are likely dropping with Season 1 in Jan. 2025. But gamers are not content and are hungry for even more.
Marvel Rivals Character Leaks Have Confused Fans
Who Are These People?

Prominent Marvel Rivals leaker @MRivalsUpdates shared a new batch of characters they found in the game files. The update on X included Angela, Hit-Monkey, Deadpool, Captain Marvel, and Modok.
Fans immediately applauded the potential arrival of Deadpool, who has killer abilities and a funny personality that will surely shake up the game and excite players. (Of course, this does mean he likely won’t take over as the commentator as some fans had hoped.) With the recent release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool is an increasingly popular superhero that fans have long been begging to be added to the hero shooter.
The other heroes have left players confused, however. Angela and Hit-Monkey are especially not very popular characters from the Marvel comics, at least not compared to characters like Iron Man and Deadpool. Gamers immediately responded with some frustration over their inclusion, asking for Daredevil and other well-known characters instead. Some pointed out, however, that devs can’t drop all the “hype” characters at once when it’s not even Season 1 yet.
It’s unclear when these newest datamined heroes would come to the game. Seeing as the previously leaked heroes are much closer to being complete and even had abilities revealed, they are likely going to be coming first. The timeline for the 13 leaked characters from the past few weeks is not yet known in total.

Heroes shouldn’t be counted out just because they aren’t popular. Jeff the Land Shark was seen as a somewhat random addition to the roster but players immediately fell in love with his design, abilities and cute behavior. So much so that he got his own limited-time game mode. And now Marvel is also in talks of getting him into the MCU.
