Spider-Man may work alone most of the time but have you ever wanted to load up those web-slingers and take to the skyscrapers of New York with friends?
Well, if you have, then you are in luck with an upcoming multiplayer mode for Marvel Spider-Man Remastered.
Over the years, Insomniac Games has given us some epic Spider-Man titles including Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and of course, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
However, as beloved as these games are, some fans have reported wishing that they could team up with friends to tackle crime across New York, especially during Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which saw both Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up.
Although Insomniac Games has no plans to bring multiplayer to the series, that has seemingly not stopped fans with one team of modders working on a co-op mode for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
There is not yet a solid release date for it but you can check out its incredible teaser trailer which shows groups of up to 16 players swinging around the city, tackling crime and of course, taking some epic screenshots.
The multiplayer mod is for PvE only which means that you won’t be able to lob webs at each other in combat but you can explore the city with friends.
Not only that but the modding team is also reportedly working on allowing groups to take on a handful of story missions together but this will come in time once they have tidied up free-roam content.
The mod will work on both Epic Games and Steam versions of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and once one player has created a lobby, others will be able to join via Steam invite or adding the host’s IP.
Last but not least, this multiplayer mod is only currently compatible for the first game but the team also plans on adding it alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the future.
As you can imagine, fans are excited to get stuck in and took to the trailer’s comment section to share the hype.
“Insomniac: Cancels multiplayer Spider-Man game.
Fans: “Fine, I’ll do it myself””, one comment read.
Another said: “Great power? Check. Great responsibility? Shared.”
