Set in Ancient Greece, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey burst onto the scene in 2018 and despite hosting mixed reviews at launch, has since found itself becoming a well-regarded entry in the Ubisoft series.

Telling the story of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta from 431 to 422 BC, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the eleventh major instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the first to take players to Ancient Greece.

It marked the first time that players were able to experience the story through one of two players and also features one of the biggest open-world maps in the franchise.

Although Ubisoft has since moved on from Odyssey, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Mirage following in 2022 and 2023 respectively, one fan has awarded us a trip down memory lane with a cinematic short film dedicated to Odyssey.

Created by NonPlayerCinematic and recorded via AC Odyssey on PC, this short film shows Kassandra take on a quest to rid an area of bandits.

The 6-minute video shows the quest in a film-like format and we see Kassandra and her eagle patrol the streets of Ancient Greece with Ezio’s Family haunting melody playing in the background.

It isn’t long before she stumbles across some villagers who want to make their way into town for a festival. However, bandits and wild beasts are making this impossible and so Kassandra takes it upon herself to clear the way.

What follows is some beautifully filmed stealth as the player takes on an in-game quest in a unique way.

The short film, that is titled A Dangerous Path, is available to watch on Youtube and if you are anything like me, will give you the urge to boot up Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for the first time in years.

Luckily, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is just around the corner and is set to be released on 20 March.

Taking us to feudal Japan, players will follow shinobi Naoe and samurai Yasuke as they fight for peace and liberty against the ever-present Templar Order.
