Lana Condor seemed very excited about making a cameo

Hardcore fans of XO Kitty got the moment of their lives when they saw Peter Kavinsky show up on their screen in season two. That’s right, the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before love interest made an adorable cameo in the second season of the show, and everybody collectively screamed. Noah Centineo may not think it matters what you’ve done or what you do with what you’ve done, but he obviously saw great value in reprising his role as a now 22-year-old Peter. The question at the forefront of everyone’s minds though, is of course, where was Lara Jean in XO Kitty season two?

The writers’ reason Lara Jean wasn’t in XO Kitty season two

In the show, Peter tells Kitty that Lara Jean is still at college, and in her final year at NYU. If you’ve ever been a final year student you’ll know you probably can’t just swan off to visit your sister in South Korea in the middle of the term. Peter is only in South Korea because of a lacrosse game taking place in Seoul. It wouldn’t have made any sense to write in a cameo here when it’s just not realistic to the plot at all.

However, Lana Condor would be very down to film a cameo

While a Lara Jean cameo just didn’t make sense for XO Kitty season two, Lana Condor has made it clear she’d definitely be open to doing a cameo in season three. She’s been in four films since To All The Boys finished and has also taken on executive producer work as well. It’s like the grind doesn’t stop for her, and it’s most likely had a scheduling conflict with XO Kitty this time around.

In more promising news, she told ScreenRant: “I would definitely never say no [to appearing in XO, Kitty.] I mean, I think it’s pretty clear that I love the ‘To All the Boys’ world and have dedicated a lot of my young adulthood to it. To me, that world feels like home.”
