Star Wars: The Acolyte fans won’t want to miss this new release from Lucasfilm, which comes nearly a year after the show premiered.
When it was originally released on Disney Plus last year, Star Wars: The Acolyte gained positive reviews from TV critics, citing the fresh setting and performances as highlights.
On the other hand, a particular section of the internet decided it was bad because the cast was diverse, with some calling it “woke”.
Death threats were even sent to the official Star Wars wiki editors for even daring to acknowledge it.
While new Star Wars projects like Skeleton Crew and the upcoming second season of Andor are filling the void The Acolyte left after being cancelled, we’re hopeful the spirit of the series can return in some other way.
Now, a new art book featuring a behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars: The Acolyte is being released by Lucasfilm.
“The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte showcases the production art, character, and vehicle designs, planets, storyboards, and other breathtaking work created during the production of the Disney+ series,” the book synopsis reads.
In addition to the art, the book also features interviews with various creatives who worked on The Acolyte.
The book is being penned by Kristin Baver, editor-in-chief of StarWars.com and author of Skywalker: A Family at War.
Baver has also released two art books previous to this, two volumes based on The High Republic.
Star Wars: The Acolyte is set at the end of the High Republic era of Star Wars. Starring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, and Carrie-Anne Moss, the show tells the story of a respected Jedi Master and their former apprentice investigating a sinister threat.
With it being set around a century before Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, the show tied in quite heavily to the prequel era of films.
Airing between June and July 2024, it ran for one season of eight episodes airing before being cancelled in August.
The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte will release in two editions, hardcover and ebook. The physical edition will be on sale for $50, while the ebook is priced at $45.
The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte will be on sale from 7 October, 2025.
