To nobody’s surprise
Just when you thought Naughty Dog had no more announcements when it came to The Last of Us series, it surprised us once again at The Game Awards last week.
When the Naughty Dog logo flashed on screen on Friday’s The Game Awards event, we all collectively held our breath in the hopes that the studio was finally announcing The Last of Us Part III.
However, that was not the case and instead, it revealed that The Last of Us Part II Remastered is finally heading to the PC.
Now officially remastered and on every platform, the current entries are all up to date which leaves room not only for The Last of Us Part III but also Naughty Dog’s brand-new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Until then and in collaboration with Nixxes, Iron Galaxy and of course, Sony Interactive Entertainment, The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be coming to PC on 3 April, 2025.
It will come with all of the standard improvements for a remaster including the current PlayStation 5 modes: No Return, Guitar Free Play, commentary, and more.
To celebrate the upcoming release, Sony has shared the brand-new trailer which gives us a much-needed refresher on the hit 2020 release.
However, with no new content and yet another remaster, fans were quick to poke fun at the latest release.
Can’t wait for the remaster of the remaster in 2 years,” lochlannach7 joked on Youtube.
Another said: “I’ll buy it on PS6 when the remastered remake is remade.”
With titles such as Bloodborne still not receiving a remaster despite first being released in 2015, Naughty Dog seemingly winning the remaster lottery is not going down well.
However, with nothing left to remaster, hopefully Sony will turn its attention to some other deserving titles from now on.
