In spite of Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively looking set to lock horns, the latter and hubby Ryan Reynolds avoided the Golden Globes for the kids.

It Ends With Us (2024) could have been the start of something beautiful. Writer Colleen Hoover, on whose work the movie was based, would have been hoping that the duo of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni can coordinate again to take the series forward.
Sadly, that wasn’t meant to be. Ironically, it might have been the end of any chances of the duo collaborating in the future, be it for It Starts With Us or any other project. It did mark the beginning of what could very well be Hollywood’s next big lawsuit.
It Ends With Us: From media to the courtroom
Something was off between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively || Sony Pictures
It Ends With Us hit theatres in August. A few weeks before the release, cracks were beginning to emerge in the movie’s protagonists. Rumors that not everything was fine between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni had been making the rounds over the internet.
With accusations like Lively’s alleged intentions to twist the movie into an Oscar grab, and Ryan Reynolds’ taking things too much into his own hands stirring a large pot of controversies, Lively & Reynolds faced intense media scrutiny.

It is in the midst of all these developments that the 37-year-old decided to sue Justin Baldoni and her studio for allegedly running a smear campaign and sexual harassment. Baldoni has not lagged behind and has filed a lawsuit against The Times (and we might see a suit against Lively in no time as well).
Things are getting way too heated way too fast. It was in this background that many believed that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively decided to skip the Golden Globes 2025 ceremony.
It turns out there is more to the situation than what meets the eye.
The ‘real reason’ Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively failed to show up to the Golden Globes

Rubbishing the rumors that the couple decided to forego the award ceremony this year because of their conflict with Justin Baldoni, a source close to them has revealed that their absence was motivated by another factor.
An insider told Radar Online that their call was motivated by the necessity to restore work-life balance. The insider said,
Why would they leave kids and their comfy couch for a long-winded awards ceremony they knew they’d come away from empty-handed?
It is worth mentioning that neither of them was nominated in any category this year. The insider continued,
The gossips are saying it was to do with the war with Baldoni but that’s baloney. The reason was just a simple work/life balance. End of. Period.
Just last year, Blake Lively revealed how the duo have always made a commitment to prioritize their personal lives, ensuring they both don’t get caught up in their work around the year. The couple share 4 children – James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 1.
One wonders the veracity behind these statements. After all, if stars began to avoid going to an award ceremony in which they weren’t nominated, we’d be looking at quite a lot of empty tables.
