Spring is a welcome season for many, but for The Elder Scrolls community, the significance of this time of year has just increased.
According to an industry insider and well known journalist, Tom Warren, a big announcement is imminent.
Before anyone gets ahead of themselves, this news has nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls VI.
While that may disappoint you, it’s hardly surprising given how far away its launch is. These lack of announcements are arguably increasing the anger aimed at Bethesda and its long awaited title.
Even though this news won’t change the arduous wait we have to endure, perhaps it will help smooth over relations between fans and developer.
Warren claims, as per ComicBook, that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been remastered, and it’ll be launching soon. Really soon.
Described as “the best open world RPG ever made”, Oblivion is beloved by fans. So much so that some argue that a remaster isn’t necessary.
While we’re not here to wade into that debate, undoubtedly a remaster would help introduce the highly rated title to gamers who’ve previously avoided it due to dated graphics.
This update, which is to be taken with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made, details that spring is when the remake will purportedly launch.
What is more, this isn’t a remake that intends to introduce new elements into Oblivion, but rather a remaster that’ll give it a new lease of life without tampering with the fundamentals that made the original such a hit.
Given the short timespan between now and spring, we don’t have long to wait to learn whether Warren’s claim is accurate or not.
Even though Warren has been bang on the money in the past, there have been times, as with every insider, when their information hasn’t been true.
We hope for the sake of the fandom that this remaster is coming because they seriously need a win right about now.
