“FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International” will not return to CBS after their current sixth and fourth seasons, respectively, come to an end.

The flagship of the Dick Wolf CBS trio, “FBI,” kicked off in 2018. Last April, it landed a three-season renewal which will keep it on the air through Season 9 into the 2026-2027 broadcast season.

“FBI: Most Wanted” was the first “FBI” spinoff, which debuted in January 2020 and was originally led by Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, Keisha Castle-Hughes and Nathanial Arcand. Dylan McDermott took over as the lead after McMahon left at the end of Season 3. The series has won its timeslot in every episode this season.

The second spinoff, “FBI: International,” launched in September 2021, with cast members Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto and Christiane Paul. At the end of Season 3, Jesse Lee Soffer took over the lead role when Kleintank exited. “International” often wins its timeslot as well and comes in second when not first.

All three “FBI” series are produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.

In January, a new “FBI” spinoff, “FBI: CIA,” was announced and remains in development with Dick Wolf is set as writer and executive producer along with David Hudgins, Nicole Perlman, David Chasteen, and Peter Jankowski. The official logline of the new project, which has yet to be picked up to series, reads, “A dedicated, strait-laced FBI agent and a street-smart CIA agent are part of a new, clandestine taskforce charged with solving and preventing domestic terrorism in and around New York City.”

At the end of last month, CBS announced nine renewals; in addition to the “NCIS” trio, The Eye renewed “Tracker,” “George & Mandie’s First Marriage,” “Hollywood Squares,” “Elsabeth” and “Fire Country.” It also gave a two-season pickup to “Ghosts.”

CBS has continued to lean in (heavily) to franchises. In addition to the “FBI” trio, they have “NCIS,” “NCIS Origins” and “NCIS: Sydney,” and have ordered “Boston Blue,” a spinoff of “Blue Bloods” for next year, as well as “Fire Country” spinoff “Sheriff Country.” There are spinoffs of “The Equalizer” and “The Neighborhood” in the works. Of course, “George & Mandie’s First Marriage” is part of the “Big Bang Theory” universe.
