Criminal Minds is honestly one of my favorite shows. It’s entertaining, amazing, showstopping, and also a great show for background noise while you scroll through Instagram.

Because I have watched it so much…I have opinions about the characters that you may or may not like.
So I decided to rank them from worst to best:
9. Elle Greenaway

CBS
She was only on the show for two seasons, but damn it, I could not stand her. She was SO whiny about everything, blamed other people for her mistakes, ~and~ honestly, I believe she had a pretty biased viewpoint on everything. She praised herself for doing the minimum, and I was so glad to see her off the show. Byeee.
8. JJ

CBS
Eh, I don’t really have much of an opinion on JJ. I think she’s great at her job, and I did miss her when she “left” briefly. She isn’t really a character who stood out to me, and also, she admitted her love for Reid while still being with her husband. Then they decide to just stay friends…drama. Fun fact: Her son on the show is her REAL-life son, and he is just so freaking cute!

7. Derek Morgan

CBS
I have a love-hate relationship with Derek Morgan. On one hand, he’s a badass agent. On the other hand, he’s REALLY stubborn, and it’s such a turnoff. Also, am I the only one who doesn’t like how he sweet-talks Penelope? Everyone thinks it’s so cute, but it comes across (to me) as manipulative and inappropriate. If I were Penelope, I’d constantly wonder what his intentions were.
Although I will say, his smile is…*chef’s kiss*.
6. David Rossi

CBS
I have to be honest: At first I was not a fan, but it was mostly because I missed Gideon so much. After a few episodes (and proper grieving time), I grew to like Rossi. He can be arrogant, but he’s smart and even has some lighthearted moments.
5. Jason Gideon

CBS
I MISS YOU, GIDEON. He was such an amazing character on this show, and so many fans were disappointed when he left. He was quick thinking and honestly just enjoyed his connection with the other agents.
4. Emily Prentiss

CBS
One word: badass. Emily Prentiss is such a strong female character, and I really admire her for it. She doesn’t take crap from anyone; plus, she was, like, a sneaky secret agent. Could she be any cooler?

3. Hotch

CBS
Ahem, if you read my other post about my love for Hotch, you’ll know I’m super biased about his position on this list. I am obsessed with Hotch. He’s frigid and serious, but he is smart as hell and takes care of his team as if his life depends on it. Plus…*swoon*.
2. Penelope Garcia

CBS
Ah, Penelope is the shiny beacon of hope and light in this dark, dark show. Her quirky style and upbeat personality always provided much-needed comedic relief during the morbid moments. The way she constantly sees the good in people, even in her position, shows what an amazing character she really is.

Plus, she’s so freaking cute.
CBS
1. Spencer Reid

CBS
How can one not love Spencer? He’s a genius, he’s handsome as hell, and he’s just so dang adorable. The way he thinks is fascinating, and I personally love when he gets into tangents of something he’s really interested in. Also, can we talk about that episode where he said, “This is calm, and it’s ‘doctor'” when he was being interrogated by the chairperson? Honestly, the best line in the entire show, hands down.

I’m just a big fan, okay?
