New missions, challenges and difficulty levels – this one has it all.
A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 has added almost two dozen brand new contract missions for you to take on, complete with varying levels of difficulty and a bunch of bonus challenges.
“RDR – Contracts” is an expansion from well-known mod author Shtivi over on Nexus Mods for Rockstar Games’ rootin’ tootin’ shootin’ cowboy simulator.
As Shtivi explains, the new missions are somewhat akin to the bounties you can already find in game – with a little added twist.
“This mod adds new, auto generated, contract missions for you to play,” explains the mod author.
“Over 22 different mission scenarios with hundreds of possible variations, difficulty levels, challenges and locations! Make the best of your weapons and skills and earn money by accepting contracts and assassinating targets around the game’s world.”
Those “challenges” are the twist I was referring to, as all of the missions have a bunch of optional extras you can choose to take on so you can earn some extra cash.
These range from simple stuff like the “Headshot” challenge (pretty self-explanatory) to challenges such as “Assassin” (which requires you to kill the target without being spotted) and “Train Food” (which requires you to make your target meet their end by using the front end of a locomotive).
According to Shtivi, there’s also a lot of variance in regards to what kind of targets you’ll run into – ranging from wealth businessmen with bodyguards, outlaws who will put up a fight, and completely innocent nobodies who will negatively impact your honour once murdered.
If you’re curious and want to have a look at the mod before downloading it, YouTuber Enash97 has uploaded a little snippet of what RDR – Contracts has to offer.
I actually played this one myself not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I’d recommend giving it a go. It’s a good stop-gap between the mid-game and the end of Arthur’s story (for when you’re not quite ready to let RDR2’s tale come to an end).
