Following her performance in Agatha All Along, Kathryn Hahn has joined an elite group of MCU actors who continue to break a surprising awards trend for Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga. Kathryn Hahn first appeared as original Salem witch Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, and her instant popularity led to the development of her own solo series that very quickly became one of the MCU’s most successful installments. An ensemble cast joined Hahn in Agatha All Along, but she was the stand-out of the series, and this has been reflected in recent awards nominations.

This new update proves that criticisms aimed at Marvel Studios throughout the Multiverse Saga are somewhat misplaced. The nominations for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony, which is set to air on January 5, 2025, were announced on December 9, and include Kathryn Hahn being nominated for her role in Agatha All Along. Kathryn Hahn is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, joining three other actors who have been nominated for Golden Globes for their MCU roles. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany were both nominated in 2022’s 79th Golden Globes for their roles in WandaVision, and Angela Bassett received the nomination and the win at 2023’s 80th Golden Globes.

Angela Bassett was the first MCU actor to take home a Golden Globe following her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but Kathryn Hahn could follow in her footsteps. Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were nominated for Golden Globes in other categories, and Ryan Reynolds was nominated for Deadpool at 2017’s 74th Golden Globes, but this wasn’t an MCU movie. Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Angela Bassett and Kathryn Hahn have proven that the MCU’s Multiverse Saga has still been a strong era for Marvel Studios.

Kathryn Hahn’s acting nomination for Agatha All Along is the only Golden Globes nomination for the MCU at this year’s ceremony.
