There was a lot of competition for the role of Indiana Jones portrayed in the films by Harrison Ford. The director wanted to cast the perfect person who would fit well into the role of Ford.

Troy Baker has been a part of the gaming industry for the past 20 years now. During these 2 decades, he has secured a special place for himself as an actor within the industry. He is quite a talented and well-known actor who has 5 BAFTA nominations to his name.

He can be called the Leonardo DiCaprio of video games since he has never managed to win the BAFTA award even after being part of some of the most critically and commercially acclaimed games, including The Last of Us Part 1 & 2 and Death Stranding.

He was more concerned about doing justice to the role than anything else. Tom Keegen, a New York director, stumbled upon Troy Baker after going through many other impersonators. He said:

You’re either gonna do something different, or you’ll try to be Harrison Ford, Either way you fail.

He was completely against imitating Ford for the role, and that is what worked best for Baker as well. Baker reached Uppsala, where the shooting was about to take place 3 weeks after rigorous training.

Baker managed to achieve a lot in such a short period. He is one of the most talented actors in the industry, and the same has been proven time and again through the roles he has embodied in the 20 years of his career.

He is undoubtedly one of the finest. There could not have been a better person who could have undertaken the role of Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The game is set to release later this year, in December.

Jerk Gustafsson, the director of the game, also thought that in 3 weeks Baker went through a metamorphosis of some sort that engrossed him more in the production. He said:

Everybody thinks he sounds like Harrison, but he always does it in a way that makes you really believe it’s Harrison. He contributes in a deeper way.
