Could this finally be the year that Bethesda lifts the lid on The Elder Scrolls VI following that original teaser trailer that dropped seven years ago?
Possibly, but I have something to satiate your appetite in the meantime.
Next month will bring us the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a sequel which has already garnered a very positive reception.
It was in 2018 that the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance dropped, but if you missed that release, worry not.
You don’t necessarily need to have played it to enjoy Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 which reportedly puts in great effort to quickly familiarise players with this world despite being a direct sequel.
The story centres around Henry, the son of a blacksmith who lives in Central Bohemia amidst the Middle Ages.
It’ll see Henry become embroiled in an ongoing civil war against the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies.
As an open world RPG, you can expect the usual fare. You’ll befriend NPCs, embark on epic quests, forage supplies, and level up your skills.
The detail of the game’s world drew particular praise, although Emma remains cautious about several performance issues: “It’s a problem that merely niggles every now and again rather than being a persistent annoyance.”
“I’ve not quite fallen in love with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, not yet. But the possibility of that is there. I can feel its tendrils creeping in, my thoughts randomly turning to Henry and what will happen once he gets back on his feet,” Emma wrote.
“In preview terms, that’s exactly the kind of reaction to an upcoming game you want. The 4 February, when the sequel is released, can’t come quickly enough.”
That date will be here before you know it, so if it is an enormous new RPG you seek, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II could be the one for you.
