Reddit user and The Sims 4 player fluffhq, though, decided to experience a less common aspect of gameplay. Instead of raising Sims or building homes, the player began to breed frogs. They posted an image of the results, explaining simply, “I made a frog breeding spreadsheet.” In a comment on the thread, they admit that they’re “just completing random collections for fun now.” They add in a comment that they love to breed frogs as it’s one of the easiest “since we can grab unlimited samples from the pond in Oasis Springs.”
The illustrated spreadsheet shows all the different frogs that someone can get, and how to make them through breeding. There are a number of frog variations in the game, and players can acquire them all through selectively breeding them. The cheat sheet shows exactly how to get each type of frog, for anyone who’s out to catch ’em all.
Many Longtime The Sims 4 Players Didn’t Even Know They Could Breed Frogs
Fans Express Surprise At Uncovering A New-To-Them Feature

While frog collecting isn’t a new hobby, it’s new to many players, who didn’t even realize they could do it. Redditor Saiyuu says “I was today years old when I learned you can breed frogs in the Sims. I‘m around 2000 hours of gameplay.” User BronzeBeautyy says they’re “12,000 hours in and had no clue either!” They add that this is why they love The Sims, since it has “so many hidden gems!”
A few players did know about the breeding mechanic and, in fact, Redditor WatercressEven8006 says they did it “for the money.” Some of the rarer frog types can be sold for over $100 and, the Redditor notes, “my broke sims need that extra side hustle.” Breeding frogs does come up in the game as part of the Curator Aspiration, but some players simply never go for that part of the game.
Our Take: There Is So Much Left To Discover In The Sims 4
EA Plans To Continue Adding Content To The Sims 4

The Sims franchise has been around since 2000. Four main games and many spinoffs and expansions later, the title remains loved and enjoyed by many fans. EA recently announced that instead of developing a whole new Sims 5 title, it will continue working on and expanding The Sims 4.
For longtime fans with many hours in the game, this means not having to start over. It also means that the game will keep growing and adding new content to an already massive game full of details to explore. And even when fans reach a point where they believe they’ve seen everything there is to see, they may find that a new hobby like frog breeding is still out there to discover in The Sims 4.
