Blizzard is on a roll and has finally brought some incredible additions to Overwatch 2. However, some in the community can never stop hating.

No one could’ve ever predicted the success Marvel Rivals would go on to achieve. The hero shooter developed by NetEase Games launched with a staggering player count and managed to surpass it with the first season. Unlike the rest of the live service games, it has managed to sustain those players much better as well.

Rivals‘ success has had a terrible knock-on effect on Overwatch 2. Since the release of the NetEase title, the Blizzard-developer hero shooter has been on a constant decline. However, the developers have finally realized the gravity of the situation and are bringing major updates to revive the game.

One might think that now that Blizzard is listening to the community, there would be no reason to complain. However, that’s not the case.

Blizzard fans need to stop bashing Overwatch 2

Ever since the release of Marvel Rivals, Blizzard has been bringing major updates to Overwatch 2 to deliver a quality experience and stop players from flocking to its biggest competitor. One of the best things Blizzard did was reintroduce 6v6 into the sequel. It was one of the most requested additions by the community.

Another major addition to the game was loot boxes, which had been axed from the sequel as it chased industry trends with battle passes. With this, it seems like Blizzard is also planning to tackle the game’s controversial monetization model. However, despite all these positive changes, gamers aren’t happy and calling Blizzard desperate.

You could say that if Rivals hadn’t been released, Blizzard would have never listened to its community. However, the fact that the company is now willing to change its development strategy and give players what they have been demanding for years is great. This will allow Overwatch 2 to continue growing and even take the lead against Rivals.

It’s high time for the Overwatch 2 community to stop complaining about the state of the game all the time and appreciate Blizzard’s efforts.

Overwatch 2 is on the rise once again thanks to Blizzard

You’ll be shocked to know that for the first time in Overwatch 2‘s entire history, the game’s overall rating on Steam is improving. As of February 20th, just two days after the release of Season 15, the game’s reviews have become mixed.

The overall reviews for Overwatch have even shifted from Overwhelmingly Negative to Mostly Negative, and it’s only the 70th lowest-ranked title on Valve’s platform, with 23% positive reviews. Compared to how horrible Overwatch 2‘s rating on Steam was almost two years ago, this is a major swing in less than 72 hours.

Why is there a sudden shift in reviews for the hero-shooter? Well, as we’ve said before, Blizzard has been making moves left and right. The brand-new Season 15 has finally brought back loot boxes and the game-changing Perks.

What’s more, the recent Spotlight event also showed off everything that’s coming to Overwatch 2 throughout the year, including additions such as Stadium game mode, Aqua, and Freya heroes, as well as new maps.

If that’s not enough, the Blizzard hero-shooter has also made a comeback to China, and considering most of the negative reviews were from these players, Overwatch 2‘s improved rating on Steam might just be the beginning.
