The season finale of Virgin River has certainly left fans with a lot of questions. As the season finished its finale with what seemed to be a somewhat peaceful note, the sudden shift in Charmaine’s story left audiences with many questions. The most gripping aspect of it all was that of the final shot of the episode and the expression on Jack’s face.
Having all kinds of possibilities sprouting in their heads, one cannot blame the fans for wanting more from the series. Even though the series just released its latest season, they cannot help but wonder where the story is going to go after this point.

Although season 6 started right after season 5 ended, the series does have a history of beginning seasons with time skips. Keeping this in mind, fans cannot help but wonder if the show is going to take a similar approach, considering that that is how season five began its run.
Patrick Sean Smith unpacks his approach for the next season of Virgin River
Recently, Patrick Sean Smith, the showrunner of Virgin River, gave an interview with Deadline to address the aftermath of the beloved series. More specifically, he was asked about the last episode and what was going to happen in the next season, now that the seventh season has been confirmed.

The showrunner addressed the possibility of a time skip in the following season, with the series having such a history. Thankfully, he mentioned that the next season would start off two hours after the previous one ended. While some may look at this as a good thing, this could be a worse fate for the characters.
Currently, the next season picks up like two hours later, there is not a time jump this time.
Since there will not be a time skip, there is a possibility that the next season will begin in the middle of everything. Although the fans will get to tune in right where they left off, this could also mean that they will be thrown into the mix from the very first episode.
Virgin River is available for streaming on Netflix.
