Privacy Policy

A plain-English explanation of what this site stores, what it does not, and the choices you have.

This is a plain-English draft of how GrowNewsUS handles information. We built the site to need as little personal data as possible. We will update this policy before introducing any new data collection, and the date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.

What we do not do at launch

  • There are no user accounts and no sign-in.
  • We do not run advertising trackers or sell personal information.
  • We do not build profiles of readers.

What is stored on your device

Some features work by saving small pieces of information in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device. These include your theme choice (light or dark), the stories you save for later, your reading and digest preferences, and any email address you type into a newsletter form. The mailing list is not live yet, so an address typed into a form is kept on your device only and is not transmitted to us. If a list launches, we will say so clearly and ask again before using your address. Our Cookie and Storage Policy lists every item and explains how to remove it.

Information you send us

If you email us at any of our published addresses, we receive your message and your email address, and we use them only to read and reply to you, keep records of corrections, and improve our work. Please avoid sending sensitive personal details by ordinary email. We do not share your messages with advertisers.

Hosting and third parties

Like any website, our hosting provider may keep server logs that record technical details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time. These logs are used for security and reliability. Some pages also load resources from third parties: fonts from Google Fonts and styling code from a content delivery network that serves the Tailwind CSS library. When your browser fetches those files, the provider can see your IP address and basic request details, under its own policies. Images are hosted on our own server.

Your choices

You can clear everything this site stores on your device at any time using the panel on the Cookie and Storage Policy page, or through your browser settings. You can also block third-party requests with a browser extension, although some fonts or styling may then look different. Because we hold no account data, there is little for us to delete, but if you have emailed us and want a message removed from our records, write to [email protected].

Children

The site is a general news publication and is not directed at children.

Changes and questions

If our practices change, we will revise this page and update its date before the change takes effect. Questions about privacy can go to [email protected], and general questions to [email protected].
